Listen to Karen Elson's cover of Lou Reed's "Vicious"

Early on in her music career, singer Karen Elson fronted the group The Citizen Band who performed covers of songs by Elvis Presley, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Pete Seeger and The Velvet Underground. This latter band is especially noteworthy as Elson, with the help of husband Jack White, has recorded a cover of Lou Reed’s “Vicious” from his 1972 solo LP Transformer.

The track was released as a 7″ this past Record Store Day and is amazing to even exist without any fuss following the fiasco involving Scottish singer Susan Boyle covering Reed’s “Perfect Day.” Listen to “Vicious” below.
