At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#54: Far East Movment – Rocketeer

Maybe the last thing I want to hear when I’m about to shoot 30,000 feet into the air is Kenny Loggins telling me to “ride into the dangerzone.”

Worth Following?: No. Super boring twitter presence. Following @BieberWithSwag (see above) is probably a better bet.

#15 (Rap Songs): Rick Ross – Aston Martin Music

I wish I could say this is a touch of self-referential humour, but it’s actually a lyric from the 2008 Lil Wayne/Birdman joint “Don’t Die.”  An obvious Rick Ross reference that I missed the first time around. #themoreyouknow

Check out Rick Ross on this incredible (and incredibly long) remix of DJ Khaled’s “Welcome To My Hood”:
DJ Khaled ft. Various Artists – Welcome To My Hood (Remix) by Big Ad

Worth Following?:
Yes. Rick Ross rules. Not sold? Just think of him as the Damian Abraham of the hip-hop world, and you’ll understand. #bigbeardedradness

#26: Wiz Khalifa – Roll Up

Wow, Wiz Khalifa’s weed-addled brain just burped out a somewhat poignant and relevant thought. Take that, edge friends.

Worth Following?: Yes.  Self-Admitted Stoner + Twitter = Big Laughs. And once in a while he might surprise you by saying something vaguely interesting.

#74: Rebecca Black – Friday

I smell a youtube parody! “Which one is the right “hour” / With or without an ‘H’ / Gotta make my mind up / Which one should I write?”

Worth Following?: I can’t tell if I want Rebecca Black to stick to her creative vision, or to fall into a well Baby Jessica style.  Speaking of R. Black, have you guys seen the next evolution of viral hate-fueled tween pop? Brace yourself.

#64 (Digital Songs): Justin Bieber – Never Say Never

That’s gotta be a rhetorical question. “If a tree falls and no one is around to hear it…” etc. etc. One more from Biebs, and I’m out:

U MAD?  http://www.whitewhine.com

Worth Following?: Yes. The above post is in reference to Biebs’ trouble with the paparazzi in Israel. I get it, it’s kinda tough being the most famous 17 year old in the world. Cheer up & chin up, Justin. If you feel like you’re not getting enough privacy, take a page from my book of teen angst: run into your room, slam the door, scream, and kick your legs on the bed until you tire yourself out. That always helped when Mom wouldn’t stop asking me “how my day was.” #parents=paparazzi
