This morning's new music news; Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has left The Cribs, Tom Vek returns with his first album in six year and the lineup for Outside Lands music festival has been revealed.

Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has left The Cribs after joining the band three years ago. “I’m working on new solo songs. I’ll be putting out two records over the next year or so and doing more film soundtrack work,” Marr said in a statement. [Exclaim!]

Singer Tom Vek will release his first new material in six years with an album entitled Leisure Seizure later this year. The first single “A Chore” will debut on UK radio next Monday (April 18). [NME]

And Arcade Fire, Muse, The Black Keys and Phish will all play this year’s Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco. The event will take place August 12-14 at the historic Golden Gate Park. [Outside Lands]
