For all the fun we poke at Morrissey—for his neverending string of tour cancellations, for his obtuse animal-rights shirts, and for his incredibly over-written biography—we’ll admit it: We’re giant fans of the Moz. The Smiths, after all, are one of rock ‘n’ roll’s untouchable bands—and Morrissey’s wit and Johnny Marr’s sprightly guitars are timeless. The Moz’s solo career, too, has yielded a string of excellent records. And yes, we actually made it through the Mozzer’s autobiography, even if its first 100 pages were dedicated to shaming the Mancunian schoolmasters of Morrissey’s youth.

Indeed, the Smiths singer is the patron saint of mopey depressives, sharp-dressed Anglophiles, and ex-hardcore kids everywhere—and that’s why we love him. As does Kate Park, who, as a hobby, creates incredible knitted Morrissey dolls. Tiny as they are, Park’s dolls are staggeringly accurate: Featuring the singer’s quiff and bushy eyebrows, these miniatures are a dead ringer for the man himself. True to the man’s wishes, Park also offers some knit dolls that don’t feature animal fibres.

If you want to get your hands on one of these incredible dolls—and no lie, we totally want one—you might need to wait. Park says that, thanks to internet publicity, she’s received a large backlog of inquiries. She’s been blocking emails, but hopes to have new dolls in the new year. We’re glad to hear that her small business is doing well—especially because, in her bio, she states that Moz dolls were a hobby.

“Please bear in mind that I’m just one old girl with arthritis and I have to rest my hands between dolls,” she writes. “This is only a hobby; I make a rule of making dolls only when I feel in the mood for it. Thanks for understanding.”

It might be Park’s hobby, but her dolls are certainly garnering attention—in fact, she even managed to get one in the hands of Johnny Marr. How cool is that?
