This is one of the most interesting Record Store Day releases to be sure—California garage rocker Ty Segall takes on Marc Bolan as he releases a 12″ EP of T. Rex covers. The name? Ty Rex. Okay, Segall; we’ll give you that one.
Segall has released a song from the EP, the fuzzy, sorta-psychy “Fist Heart Mighty Dawn Dart.” T. Rex released the folkier original in 1970. You can hear the track below and you can buy the vinyl on—you guessed it!—Record Store Day this weekend (or from Goner Records) [via Gorilla vs. Bear].
