After releasing a mysterious tease of a video clip just last week, Bon Iver (aka Justin Vernon) announced today that his highly anticipated (and impatiently awaited) sophomore album will be released on June 21.

The self-titled album was recorded in an old veterinarian’s clinic in Fall Creek, WI, that Vernon and his brother converted into a studio. In a press release issued today, the album is said to expand on the barren acoustics of the stirring last record to include “silky electric guitars, beautifully intricate keys, and subtle horn and string sections,” noting that Vernon’s gorgeous ghostly vocal layers will remain a fixture of his sound. No word on any guest appearances from Kanye, though.

Vernon has been keeping himself busy outside of recording, most recently appearing on stage with everyone Kanye, Gayngs, and the National this past weekend at Coachella. You can watch him perform “Lost in the World” with Mr. West below.
