On Tuesday, Arcade Fire played a secret show at the Hotel Oloffson in Haiti, a country close to the band’s heart and for which they’ve raised over $1 million since 2005, with concentrated fundraising efforts since the 2010 earthquake. Band member Régine Chassagne has personal ties as her parents emigrated from Haiti to Montreal before Chassagne was born.
It was reportedly an emotional affair and Rolling Stone has posted a exclusive photo gallery, with accompanying captions detailing the evening. Video is starting to surface online as well; below you can watch a blurry but chill-inducing, charged performance of the band’s Chassagne-led song “Haiti.”
