For fans of Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating In Space and Songs in A&E, dig this: It has been announced that Spiritualized are currently working on a new record that’s set to be released this fall via Domino/Double Six/Spaceman Recordings.

Unfortunately that’s all the details we’ve been given thus far, but any mention of new material from the UK ‘space rock’ (or whatever music you like to call necking, getting high, or washing dishes to) band is worth mentioning.

NME reported last July that frontman Jason Pierce was “living in the studio” and said he would be “embracing” more pop songs on the next album.

“I always shy away from anything I write that sounds like a pop song, things like ‘Soul On Fire’ or ‘Stop Your Crying,'” he said. “I’m not fighting it any more.”
