Mister Heavenly had people’s ears since the very beginning, as most super groups do, but it reached new heights when George Michael Michael Cera joined late last year. The indie supergroup—formed earlier last year by Islands’ Nick Thorburn, Man Man’s Honus Honus, and Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer—used their pedigree to get Sub Pop on board before they’d even played their first show.

The group released a two-track single in January, and they continue work on a full length. In a recent interview with AUX, Thorburn and Plummer share a few details about the upcoming album…sort of.

When asked if they had any progress on a release date, Thorburn told us “August…late summer or early fall. Let’s say August.” We then asked if they’d locked down a title yet but it proved equally as undecided. “We haven’t one-hundred percent agreed on one, so you don’t want to jump the gun on that.”

“Since we’ve been here we’ve come up with some,” Plummer said. We asked what their favourite one that they weren’t going to use was. “Cry Baby was a working title. We wanted Johnny Depp to pose for us and cry all over the record.”

You heard it here first: the Mister Heavenly Sub Pop debut hits stores maybe in August and it will not at all feature Johnny Depp or his tears.
