The folks at Some Kind of Awesome have uncovered and compiled four new old Beck songs from the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World soundtrack sessions. The film was released last summer and delighted Canadian (okay, Toronto) indie rock fans as members of Broken Social Scene, Sloan, and Metric worked on the music for the movie. Oh, right—and the whole thing was based and filmed in Toronto, as well.

Beck wrote the music for fictitious band Sex Bob-Omb, fronted by the hero Pilgrim (played by Michael Cera), and it seems that some got recorded, used in the movie, then left off the soundtrack (“Indefatigable”), while others are demos that were recorded and not used or never recorded at all.

Fans of Beck and fans of every Scott Pilgrim nuance can check out the super-short jams here.
