Fucked Up reveal the first song, artwork from 'David Comes to Life'

Toronto cool kids via hardcore brats Fucked Up have given us the first taste of their upcoming musical/rock opera/mind-melder David Comes to Life this morning via the new website for the album. The track “The Other Shoe” is once again the mark of band consistently interesting and creative, starting with sprawling, symphonic guitar, sweet female lead vocals, and of course, Damian Abraham’s trademark bear-like growl. Nothing else sounds like this band sounds right now.

There’s an extra bit of info behind the album on the band’s unofficial but officially great blog this morning as well, including this little nugget:

There are a lot of different things that are going to be happening over the next few months – lot’s of little 7″‘s and special shows and things to pay attention to. I will talk about them all, but another place you can check out is this website davidcomestolife.com that will have some cool stuff on it.

Of course there will! From the official site, It also looks like the next few songs to come out before the albums release are “A Slanted Tone” (April 15th), “Ship Of Fools” (April 26th), and “One More Night” (May 3rd).

David Comes to Life will be out on June 7. The new song can be heard below.
