It’s not for awhile yet, but plans are already underway for this year’s Canada Day celebrations. It was announced today that The Tragically Hip, who are releasing a new album sometime this year, will return to the stage on Canada’s national holiday to headline a one-day festival show at Downsview Park in Toronto.
If that’s not enough, Weezer, Broken Social Scene, Hey Rosetta, and Buck 65 will also be performing that day. Tickets for the gig will go on sale this Saturday through Ticketmaster at around $70 a pop. It will be fun/expensive celebration of our country’s formation.
