Dan Deacon is known for a lot of things: for having the 68th best video of 2010 on our Top 100 list, for having huge glasses, for his quirky, chipmunk-vocal laden dance-tronica and for his sweat-drenched dance parties. Now you can add something else to his every growing resumé, as last week word got out that Deacon is set to score Twixt Now and Sunrise, the latest from filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

Deacon cites the work he did in college as a likely influence on the film’s score, telling Pitchfork over the weekend that film-goers can expect the score to be of the “atonal, noisy chamber music” variety.

In the interview, Deacon says Coppola first contacted him via e-mail and that their relationship grew from there. The two are also rumoured to be working on another project about which we currently know nothing.

Though little is known about the film, Twixt Now and Sunrise has been described as a nightmare-ish, “gothic romance” with the imagery of “Hawthorne or Poe”. Val Kilmer, who’s apparently still acting, will star.

The movie is due out sometime later this year.
