Elton John and David Furnish welcome baby boy

And in “well, this is the cutest” news, Elton John and husband David Furnish have just announced the birth of their infant son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who was delivered via an unidentified surrogate on Christmas Day.

In a statement to Us Weekly, the two assure fans that the 7-pound, 15-ounce boy is “healthy and doing well”, and that the two are “overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment”.

The adoption was confirmed on Monday, and the arrival of Zachary marks Elton John’s first step into fatherhood. However, already being a godfather to Sean Lennon, Elizabeth Hurley’s son and oldest Beckham boys, it goes without saying he may be the “coolest dad ever”. Now insert “Circle of Life” reference here.
