UPDATE: Barrow has clarified the news with another post on his Twitter page saying, “What i mean is that We will be playing with AF at some point next year it’s not a tour though!! Sorry.”
Not long ago Portishead revealed they would be getting back together to record what would be their fourth album. While no official recording dates have been announced, member Adrian Utley did speak about how the band would be writing new tunes will playing several gigs, something they previously have never done.
Thanks to a post on producer/instrumentalist Geoff Barrow’s Twitter page, the band announced they’ll be playing some shows next year with Arcade Fire, a band still out touring in support of their latest record The Suburbs.
“We’re doing some split headline shows with arcade fire next year,” Barrow said. “I’m really looking forward to it..proper band!!”
Check out the confirmed tour dates for both bands below and we’ll keep you posted of any more updates regarding further gigs. [Consequence of Sound]
