In late 2009, Sony mistakenly had Diamond Rings’ video ‘All Yr Songs’ removed from youtube, resulting in apersonal apology to the singer. Now it seems like history might be repeating itself. Earlier this week Deerhunter/Atlas Sound’s Bradford Cox released a bunch of demo material on his website. Cox had hosted the music on Mediafire and, as Exclaim points out, today the singer blogged about the files being deleted by Sony Music due to a copyright claim.  In the post, titled “Your Files Have Been Deleted,” Cox included an email from Sony which details the claim and their take down action:

The file Atlas_Sound_Bedroom_Databank_Vol_2.zip identified by the key (17q0oya5mkx84ow) has been deleted by Sony Music Entertainment on November 26, 2010 at 12:44pm.

If you feel this was in error after reviewing the information in this email, please contact the party who requested the removal or us via Support with the details from this email.

The best part of the email is that the contact name is Anti-Piracy. You can pretty much guarantee your kid is going to grow up to be a jerk if you name them Anti-Piracy.
