For those who disagreed with us putting Lou Reed in our Top 10 Most Out Of Touch Musicians list, we proudly present the latest installment in the Lou Reed/Susan Boyle saga.

Despite banning Boyle from singing his 1972 track “Perfect Day” on Americas Got Talent, Reed has directed the music video for Boyle’s cover that appears on her latest album The Gift.

The music video, below, was shot at Loch Lomond in Scotland and consists of various shots of Boyle outstretched complimenting the powerful instrumentation. This was Reed’s second directorial effort following a short doc about his cousin Red Shirley and we hope he might rethink things the next time he decides to do another one.

Apparently the filming of the video did not go as planned as there was several problems due to constant rain and wind. Although Scotland’s weather doesn’t usually permit sipping Pina colada’s outside everyday, we like to think it was maybe divine intervention trying to communicate with Reed. The song was, after all, reportedly about Reed’s struggle with addiction and heroin.
