DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEK: Japandroids "Heavenward Grand Prix"

Vancouver noise-rockers Japandroids have been very generous to their fans. Since their 2009 album, Post Nothing, did so well, they decided to make a five-part singles series to keep everyone content until the band has time to settle down and make another record. Heavenward Grand Prix is the third installment.

There are only 2000 vinyl copies available, but you can buy them online as well. It was released today. This installment includes the soaring “Heavenward Grand Prix” on A-Side and a cover of PJ Harvey’s “Shame” on B-Side.

“Heavenward Grand Prix,” like the other songs in the series, is previously unheard from the Post Nothing sessions. It showcases the duo’s blend of melodies with pure rocking out moments. It’s a pleasant blast on your senses; you’ll be glad that you’re finally able to hear it.
