Last night during a Guns N’ Roses gig in London, Axl Rose was joined on stage by former bassist Duff McKagan, marking the first time in 17 years any original members of the hard rock group have performed together.

According to SPIN, McKagan joined Rose for “You Could Be Mine,” “Nice Boys, “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door,” and “Patience.” Reports also said the reunion was unplanned as the two met up at a hotel they were both staying at.

The idea of a full band reunion has been dismissed as simply out of the question. Slash is currently touring his new solo record and holding auditions for Velvet Revolver, which McKagan is also a part of. As for what Rose thinks of doing something with the famous guitarist, he told Billboard last year that, “What’s clear is that one of the two of us will die before a reunion and however sad, ugly or unfortunate anyone views it, it is how it is.”
