The Labor Day weekend is just moments away! It’s the last long weekend of the summer so you gotta go big. Have that extra piece of corn on the cob, take the extra long paddle boat ride and don’t just drink a beer with breakfast, shotgun it and then whip the empty can at your brother.

If you need a song or ten to accompany the festivities here are your best options.

The Top 10 Labor Weekend Songs

#10 24 Hour Party People by the Happy Mondays

Anytime you don’t have to work at the beginning of the week it’s a happy Monday. Long weekends also allow for all-day parties. Leaving this song off the list would be straight up zany.

#9 Labor Day Song by the Black Eyed Peas

Last July the Black Eyed Peas played the Festival D’Ete in Quebec City. The festival was amazing. The Black Eyed Peas were fucking horrible. And not in a, too cool for pop music way, more like a, sweet Jesus these guys really have no talent way. This tune is for all the soccer moms reading this. Just kidding, soccer moms don’t read.

# 8 Holiday by the Long Weekend

The Long Weekend are an indie band out of the UK who, according to their most recent blog posting,  were part of Len Price 3’s 2008 Christmas Extravaganza. Naming your band the Long Weekend and having a song called Holiday guarantees you a spot on a Top 10 List for Labor Day Songs. It also drastically increases your chances of being hired for cruise ship entertainment.

#7 The BBQ Song

The Labor Day Weekend was made for barbecues. This song takes barbecue knowledge to the next level. Who knew the term bbq wasn’t a verb? The guitar player in the Canadian tuxedo looks like a toucher. Big ups to the guy who walks in the background twenty-five seconds in.

#6 Solid Potato Salad Song

If you’re gonna have some bbq you better have some potato salad. And not just any potato salad, solid potato salad. The difference? Solid potato salad comes with a side of three brawds in spandex doing the crab walk. Solid.

#5 Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine

Labor day is all about celebrating not having to work. It’s telling the man to go fuck himself. You rage against the machine. This jam is great to kick off the long weekend. Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me, until Tuesday

#4 Workers Song by the Dropkick Murphys

A tribute to all the blue caller workers.

#3 Labor Day Walmart Song

These videos are strangely hypnotic. There’s one for every holiday. From Christmas to Yom Kippur to Labor Day. They make crushing small businesses fun!

#2 The Labor Day Song by the Dead Milkmen

This song includes the lyrics: On my TV screen/Every Labor Day/Fuckin’ Jerry Lewis/Make him go away/Make him go away/Make him go away/He’s fucked up my labor day/Make him go away.

Gerry Lewis is annoying but at least his Labor Day telethon makes for good radio on Howard Stern the next day. The money raised is cool too.

#1 She’s Having A Baby by Dave Wakeling

Get it? It’s a list about labor day songs. She’s having a baby. Hilarious. For the record, Kevin Bacon has aged very well. He looks the exact same in every movie. Remember how big his dick was when he came out of the shower in Wild Things? Happy Labor Day!
