This morning's new music news; The Drums have announced a replacement for guitarist Adam Kessler who quit the band last week, Roots drummer Questlove is planning to write a book and Deerhunter's upcoming album is currently streaming online.

The Drums have announced that Tom Haslow, a friend of the band, will be a temporary replacement for guitarist Adam Kessler who quit the group last week. Despite the sudden departure, the band claim all the dates on their current US tour will go ahead as planned. [NME]

Roots drummer Questlove is planning to write a book “combining his headful of music factoids with real life stories, celebrity encounters, and thoughts on life written in his signature stream-of-consciousness style” tentatively titled Mommy, What’s a Questlove? No release date has been set announced. [okayplayer]

And Deerhunter’s forthcoming album Halcyon Digest is currently streaming in its entirety over at NPR. The record officially drops September 28. [NPR]
