Former Velvet Underground singer Lou Reed is apparently not a Susan Boyle fan. According to the Daily Mail, Reed would not allow the Scottish singer to perform his 1972 song “Perfect Day” on the TV show America’s Got Talent. Boyle was runner up on the British version of the show last year.

A few hours prior to filming, the show’s producers were informed Reed would not give permission for Boyle to sing the song because he is not a fan of her music. Boyle was forced to pull out of the performance as there was no time for her backing singers to learn a new song.

One source told the Daily Mail, “Susan is very sensitive and is genuinely upset. This has really knocked her confidence. She was in a car on the way to the studio when she was told the news and was totally devastated. She’s now at LAX Airport sobbing her heart out.”
