This morning's new music news; Ray Davies from The Kinks has been working on a solo album with a high profile cast that includes Bruce Springsteen and Frank Black, Women have announced details about their upcoming North American tour and Magic Kids have released a music video for "Superball."

The Kinks’ Ray Davies has confirmed he’s been working with Mumford and Sons, Spoon and Frank Black from the Pixies on an as-yet-untitled new album that’s set for release sometime next year. Apparently he’s also be working with Paloma Faith, Amy MacDonald, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Hipsters United posted yesterday saying that Billy Corgan has recently been in the studio with Davies recording the band’s 1981 single “Destroyer.” [NME]

Women have announced details for their upcoming North American tour, which is set to take place right after they release their sophomore album Public Strain on September 28. The Calgary band has dates scheduled in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton, Victoria, Vancouver and Edmonton. [Exclaim!]

And Magic Kids have released a new video for the track “Superball” off their recently released album Memphis. [The Music Slut]
