Beck Hansen has done this a few times in the past and by that I mean created a very touching piece of music for a soundtrack. The cover he did of “Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime,” originally released by The Korgis in 1980, for the soundtrack Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind immediately comes to mind. However several of his studio albums, Sea Change in-particularly, have had their fair share of heartfelt and somber tracks and this latest one, albeit dedicated to the protagonist’ love interest Ramona Flowers in the upcoming movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, is no different. Have a listen below and yes the acoutic guitar and strings at the beginning of the song are like Bowie’s “Space Oddity.”
