This past May Ottawa band The Acorn, often lumped into the category of indie-folk, released the album No Ghost, which has been called “a fitting soundtrack to both the tranquility of the country, and the sodium-lamp lit romance of city nights.” In preparation for the album, their third full-length, the band set out to a remote cottage in northern Quebec last summer to write the songs. Since its release No Ghost seems to have succeeded their last record Glory Hope Mountain, an ode to member Rolf Klausener’s mother.

Recently Southern Souls shot and posted three videos of The Acorn performing tracks off No Ghost and you can view the one featuring “Restoration” below. Be sure to check out the other videos of the band along with tons of other great performances at Southern Souls.
