Former Sleater-Kinney member Corin Tucker will release a solo album under the Corin Tucker band called 1,000 years on October 5. Apparently some of the tracks appearing on the album were written for the latest Twilight movie soundtrack, but failed to make the final selection. “They didn’t work for the movie, but I kept them anyway,” Tucker said. “The themes work exactly. The monsters, beasts and demons, all those things working on you. I think there’s a lot of personal angst in that story.” [Pitchfork]

And Frazey Ford’s debut solo album entitled Obadiah is currently streaming over at Exclaim!. Previously Ford worked with the Vancouver-based band the Be Good Tanyas. The new disc will be officially released on July 20. [Exclaim!]
