According to The Wrap iconic musician and screenwriter Nick Cave will rewrite the scrip for the upcoming remake of the 1994 film The Crow. Director Stephen Norrington had apparently written a “terrific” screenplay, but Relativity Media’s producer Ed Pressman recently revealed they’ve hired Cave to write a new one.

Besides writing his own screenplays, Cave has been widely known for composing the music behind several films with his fellow countryman and Bad Seed band member Warren Ellis such as The Proposition, which he also wrote the screenplay for, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and most recently The Road.

The remake is said to resemble James O’Barr’s comic book a lot more than the original film. Norrington, who previously worked on Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen will still direct the film. No actors have been mentioned yet to follow Brandon Lee, who died while filming the original when he was mistakenly shot with a real bullet.
