Nick Cave’s 15-year-old son has died.
The BBC reports that Arthur Cave was found with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after falling from a cliff in Brighton. Arthur was taken to the hospital after being discovered on the underpass of Ovingdean Gap, but would later pass away due to the injuries sustained in the fall. The Guardian notes that members of the public attempted to provide first aid on Arthur before he was taken to hospital.
Arthur Cave’s death is not being treated by police as suspicious. A Sussex police spokeswoman has indicated that the coroner’s officer will be looking into the matter.
The Cave family has released a statement commenting on the tragedy.
“Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy loving boy,” read a statement from Nick and Susie Cave. “We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time.”
