This morning's new music news; Simon & Garfunkel have postponed their summer Canadian tour dates, the new Oasis compilation album is kicking ass in the UK and Snoop Dogg has been banned from a free festival in the Netherlands.

Simon & Garfunkel have postponed their Canadian tour set for this summer indefinitely. Art Garfunkel has been struggling with vocal paresis and has not fully recovered. The duo were supposed to play several major Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. [Exclaim!]

The new Oasis compilation album entitled Time Flies has hit number one in the UK charts, surprise surprise. It’s the first release from the band after they called it quits last summer and contains tracks from their entire discography starting with 1994’s Definitely Maybe[NME]

And Snoop Dogg has been banned from a free festival in the Netherlands. Authorities thought the rapper was inappropriate to perform at Parkpop in The Hague with its “open and friendly character.” The gig kicks off June 27. Snoop Dogg recently wrote a song and put out a video about the True Blood character Sookie. [BBC]
