This morning's new music news; Pete York is set to release a new album this Fall, Sujan Stevens is working with members of the National on his upcoming disc and Stars' forthcoming album The Five Ghost is currently streaming over at NPR.

Pete Yorn is set to release a new self-titled album this Fall on Vagrant Records. The upcoming disc was recorded with Frank Black from the Pixies in Salem, OR and features 11 new songs. One of those tracks, “Paradise Cove I Love” is currently streaming on Yorn’s MySpace page. This will be his sixth studio album following last year’s collaboration with Scarlett Johansson entitled Break Up. [Exclaim!]

Sufjan Stevens is apparently hard at work on a new album to follow 2005’s impressive Illinois. In a recent Exclaim! interview, the National’s Bryce Dessner said Stevens is recording the new disc in the band’s studio in Brooklyn. “We’ve played on some of the tracks and been listening to some of the stuff as he’s been working on it,” Dessner said. “It’s going to be incredible. It’s going to probably blow people’s minds.” [Pitchfork]

And the new Stars album The Five Ghosts, is currently streaming in its entirety on NPR. This is the band’s fifth studio album and is set to come out next week. It follows 2007’s In Our Bedroom After The War and will be released on their own label Soft Revolution. [NPR]
