This morning in new music; Mumford & Sons will release material recording while touring last December in India, Women have announced their sophomore album entitled Public Strain and Pavement will play one show this month with original drummer Gary Young.

Mumford & Sons have announced they’ll be releasing new material that was recorded while on tour in India last December instead of releasing a bluegrass EP. In an interview with NME, frontman Marcus Mumford said the band recorded with various Rajasthani musicians. [NME]

Calgary-based band Women have announced some details of their upcoming sophomore album. The record will be called Public Strain and features 11 new tracks produced by Chad VanGaalen. It will be released in Canada on September 28. [Exclaim!]

And for one date only, original Pavement drummer Gary Young will join the re-united band for a show in their hometown of Stockton, California on June 24. Young left the band before Pavement’s 1994 album Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. [Matador Records]
