Last night Broken Bells, which consists of The Shins’ James Mercer and Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) performed the song “The High Road” off their self-titled debut album released this year on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The late night host’s relatively large outdoor stage can be good and band for some bands, but for Broken Bells, it suits them perfectly as Mercer’s voice almost seems like it should have a little echo in it that the venue certainly provides.
For the rest of the summer the band will be touring overseas with gigs at some pretty heavy festivals including Glastonbury. No new material from the Shins has been planned, but recently Mercer and his past band did cover “Goodbye Girl” by Squeeze for a Levi’s Pioneer Session.
