The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards will release his autobiography this October. “I’m waiting for some proofs to come back. It’s kind of weird reading about your own life,” Richards said in an interview with The Independent. “Talking to some of the people that were there and their version of events to try and correlate it all was very interesting, a kind of kaleidoscopic bunch of experiences,” he added. No official word if the stones will record another album and tour, but their reissue of Exile On Main Street comes out May 18. [The Independent]

Former Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker has released a “holiday for the ears” album. According to the BBC, Cocker teamed up with The National Trust to create 13 tracks of birdsong, trickling waters and creaking stairs. The disc is available for free download and the singer says, “It’s not really meant to be listened to intently, like a piece of music, but more as something to have on in the background to aid relaxation.” [BBC]

And Mary J. Blige will play legendary singer Nina Simone in Cynthia Mort’s forthcoming film entitled Nina. The plot of the biopic surrounds Simone’s relationship with her manager Clifton Henderson. It is set to start shooting this Fall at UK production house Ealing Studios. [THR]
