This past week The National released their latest album, their fifth, High Violet and last night on the Late Show with David Letterman they performed the track “Afraid of Everyone” featuring Sufjan Stevens on backing vocals. The band perform this melancholy song with such intensity it seems even Letterman was lost for words after watching it. The album was featured on our Best New Music Releases list and upon its release, the band let loose the video for the album’s first single “Bloodbuzz Ohio.” Touring all summer, they’ll play two shows in Toronto in June as well as gigs in Montreal and Vancouver later in the season.

Canadian Tour Dates:

June 8 – Massey Hall – Toronto

June 9 – Massey Hall – Toronto

July 31 – Osheaga – Montreal

September 10 – Malkin Bowl – Vancouver
