Friday morning might be the easiest of all days to wake up to for a number of reasons, the weekend just ahead being the main one. However just because it’s Friday and you’re already thinking about what will go on in the next two days and probably plan on ducking out of work early doesn’t necessarily mean getting out of bed will be cake. We’ve compiled a list of tunes to make that experience not so bad and help you take those initial steps to the shower or coffee maker a little more encouraging. Writing this the night before it gets published, I for one look forward to blasting these songs to help make me feel alive and ready to take that first breath of air with a grin [ed note. lame]. Some tracks are heavy and others are just a reminder of how lovely sounds can make us do good things.

Wake Up – The Arcade Fire

In Transit – Albert Hammond Jr.

Short Fuse – Black Lips

Block Rockin’ Beats – The Chemical Brothers

Anti-Venom – USS

Superstar Tradesman – The View

Days Of Last – Fucked Up

Lola Stars And Stripes – The Stills

Young Adult Fiction – The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

Here It Goes Again – OK Go
