Seattle’s Death Cab For Cutie have plans to record the followup to their major label debut Narrow Stairs and fans can expect the album early next year. “We’re going in the studio in June to start working on the record,” lead singer Ben Gibbard said in an interview with MTV. “We’re going to be recording through the summer and into the fall… we’re probably looking for a spring 2011 release…I feel like we have a lot more records to make.” [MTV]

Former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren was laid to rest yesterday at a cemetery in London. Among those in attendance were Pistols members Glen Matlock and Paul Cook, Annie Lennox, Adam Ant, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and Bob Geldof. McLaren died of cancer in New York on April 8. He was 64. [NME]
