Mashup Of The Day: The Velvet Underground & Marvin Gaye

A mashup has surfaced combining The Velvet Underground’s track “Venus In Furs” and Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrel’s “Ain’t No Mountain.” The original by the VU, off their debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico, is trippy enough, but with Gaye’s and Terrel’s vocal accompaniment, what looked like a bad idea on paper turns out to be quite soothing to the ears. The video itself has plenty of footage of both contributors and even some Andy Warhol moments. Much thanks to joeypropeller for posting it.
