One of the greatest albums in rock ‘n’ roll history, The Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main Street, will be re-released on May 18th with mouth watering treasures for fans. A total of 10 new tracks will be on the disc including “Plundered My Soul” (video below), “Following the River,” “Dancing in the Light,” “Pass the Wine” and alternate versions of “Soul Survivor” and “Loving Cup.” The album will be released as a CD, 2-LP vinyl, 2-CD deluxe edition and a super deluxe edition that features everything just mentioned and a 64 page photo book, four postcards and a DVD containing scenes from Stones in Exile and Ladies and GentlemenThe Rolling Stones.

The album was originally released as a double LP in 1972 and was the band’s tenth studio album. During the recording of the album the band spent time at Nellcote, a former Nazi headquarters in France that guitarist Keith Richards rented in the spring of 1971. Several notable visitors spent time with the band there including William S. Burroughs, Terry Southern and Gram Parsons. It has been noted that Richards began the habit of using heroin daily while at Nellcote. The rest of the album and additional tracks were recorded at Sunset Sound Records in Los Angeles.

The first single off the album “Tumbling Dice” was a top 10 hit and the album itself reached #1 worldwide. It has received dozens of accolades and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame placed it as #6 on the Definitive List of albums “every music lover should own.”
