This morning in new music; Belle & Sebastian plan their follow up to 2006's The Life Pursuit and The Kinks will release previously unheard songs on a new album, Drummer Mick Avery confirms.

Belle & Sebastian are set to start work on a new album, their first since 2006’s The Life Pursuit. In a message sent to fans on their email list, they said “We’ve been in the studio these last few weeks writing some new tracks and shortly we will say cheerio to  Glasgow for a while when we set off to LA to record our next album.” The band is also planning new tour dates and have already been booked for festivals in Europe and Japan. The new LCD Soundsystem’s album will be released on May 18. Following 2007’s Sound of Silver this yet to be named album is 65 minutes long and according to James Murphy, his label is currently deciding between two tracks, “Drunk Girls” and “Change” for the first single. [Pitchfork]

And The Kinks will release previously unheard songs on a new album. Drummer Mick Avery has confirmed that they are working with archive tracks written by Ray and Dave Davies. The band last performed in 1996 and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. [Music Insider]
