This morning's new music news roundup; Jack White promises new Dead Weather on its way, Arcade Fire donate Wake Up to the NFL and Propagandhi release details on forthcoming EP.

Jack White has revealed that “The Dead Weather are finishing recording the last couple of songs,” and that their new album is expected to come out in April. Speaking with Australian radio station Triple J, White added the sound of the album is “bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be.” [NME]

This Sunday while watch the most hyped up commercials during the Superbowl, you may hear that memorable opening guitar rift of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” featured in one of them. To support Haiti relief funds, the band has given the NFL permission to use their song for charity ads during the big game. All the licensing fees will go straight to Partner’s In Health With Haiti. And Winnipeg punks Propagandhi have released details of their upcoming digital-only EP that will also benefit Partners In Health. The EP, which comes out in March, features three unreleased songs from the sessions for the band’s first two albums. [Exclaim!]

Toronto plays for Haiti, which involved Maestro Fresh Wes, U.S.S, The Salads Featuring Choclair, 
Die Mannequin, ill scarlett, The Trews, Moneen, and The Junction amongst others helped raise thirty-two thousand dollars this week. Check out our photos from that event and Blue Rodeo playing Massey Hall on February 4th below.
