This morning's music news roundup; Air, Beck, Julian Casablancas, The Breeders Camera Obscura, Vampire Weekend on one album, The Hold Steady announce new album and Buckley's music to make it's Shakespear debut.

Air, Beck, Julian Casablancas, The Breeders Camera Obscura, Vampire Weekend and several other notable acts all appear on a new CD put out through Filter Magazine and American Eagle, with all proceeds going to the Haiti relief effort. The compilation features remixes, cover songs and rarities and is currently available in any American Eagle store. It will be for sale online through the store’s website tomorrow. [Exclaim!]

Brooklyn’s The Hold Steady have announced details of their new album, their fifth and plans to tour the UK and U.S. Entitled Heaven is Whatever, the band worked with long-time producer Dean Baltulonis. The album will be released on May 3. [Gigwise]

And music by the late Jeff Buckley will be featured in an adaptation of William Shakespear’s Romeo and Juliet called The Last Goodbye. Directed by Michael Kimmel, the event is part rock concert, part Elizabethan verse and part 21st century musical. [Variety]
