This morning in new music; EMI says Abbey Road is not for sale (but you still can't embed it), Coldplay talks new album, and Hole will mark their return with a show at SXSW.

Yesterday EMI released a statement saying Abbey Road studios is not up for sale, despite an outcry of accusations that it was last week. Also, they said sometime last year the label rejected an offer for the building made famous by the Beatles and used by other notable acts such as Radiohead and Pink Floyd. A revitalization project is currently in the works with EMI searching for a third party to help with funding. [BBC]

According to lead singer Chris Martin, Coldplay is set to release a new album sometime this year. Details are scarce at the moment because of the tight security to prevent songs from leaking online. Martin says only a couple people in the building they are recording in know how to access the new music. “Even we (Coldplay) don’t know how to do it,” he said. “We couldn’t even steal our own music at the moment.” [NME]

And following their, or her, return to the stage last week in England, Hole have announced that they will play their first show on home soil in over 10 year at SXSW on March 19. Hole’s new album, Nobody’s Daughter, comes out in late April. [Spin]
