This morning's music news roundup; Franz Ferdinand begin work on their new album, the Sasquatch Music Festival unveils its lineup which includes Japandroids and Caribou, and the legendary Abbey Road studios is up for sale.

Franz Ferdinand have begun work on their forthcoming album. No release date his been announced, but according to singer/guitarist Alex Kapranos and guitarist Nick McCarthy, it won’t be too long before we’ll hear it. “I’ve been round at Nick’s and we’ve been writing some things, and trying to do things in a different way again,” Kapranos said. “You’ll hear it before too long.” [NME]

The lineup has been announced for this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, Washington. Headliners Pavement, Massive Attack and My Morning Jacket will be accompanied by a ton of notable acts such as Tegan and Sara, Caribou, Girls, Broken Social Scene, Vampire Weekend, Japandroids and many others. Abbey Road, the legendary northwest London studios where the Beatles recorded many of their songs, is up for sale by record label EMI. According to the Financial Times, the label’s owners are looking to reduce the company’s debts and the sale of the studios could raise tens of millions of pounds. Several other bands such as Radiohead, Blur and Pink Floyd have also recorded there. [Financial Times]
