In the first episode of Scion Sessions presents Mixtape: An Unauthorized Biography, artists, radio hosts, music historians, and more talk about the introduction of the compact cassette tape in the mid 1960s and its rise through the early ’80s.

The cassette tape was the first medium that allowed the average person to curate his or her own music—original D.I.Y. tool for music lovers. It began a revolution that over three-and-a-half decades later led to everything we know about music today.
