When discussing a group that bases much of their identity on financial wealth, Pop Hunter thought it might be fun to put together a study on the independent wealth of some key YMCMB members. If you add up the collective wealth of every member of YMCMB, does it even come close to a billion? How “Lil” can you be, without having a comparable bank account?

What is YMCMB? Young Money Cash Money Billionaires. It’s a record label. Or is it two? The distinction between Young Money and Cash Money gets a little hazy for me. Well, we know it’s a management company. It’s a business. They’ve even got their own pre-paid credit card brand. Most of us know YMCMB best as the overarching collective home to some of the most popular musicians today, including Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Birdman.

When discussing a group that bases much of their identity on financial wealth, Pop Hunter thought it might be fun to put together a study on the independent wealth of some key YMCMB members. Birdman is constantly touting about being a billionaire (see: the Billionaire Minds mixtape), but if you add up the collective wealth of every member of YMCMB, does it even come close to a billion? How “Lil” can you be, without having a comparable bank account?

So, we’re proud to present YMCMB: Age vs. Net Worth – A Graphical Study. We used the iron-clad resources available to us (Wikipedia and CelebrityNetWorth.com, naturally) to draft up a physical representation of 12 different members of Young Money in varying stages of their musical careers. Here’s what we found.

1. Lil Twist
Age: 19
Net Worth: $2 million
He’s got a Lil nest egg, that’s for sure.

2. Tyga
Age: 22
Net Worth: $1 million
Rack City is not stacks city, apparently.

3. Bow Wow
Age: 24
Net Worth: $40 million
He was famous when people actually bought records.

4. Drake
Age: 25
Net Worth: $25 million
$25 mil at 25 years. Why you gotta be sad all the time, Aubrey?

5. Lil Wayne
Age: 29
Net Worth: $95 million
Does it cease to be young money when it’s over $100 mil?

6. Nicki Minaj
Age: 29
Net Worth: $14 million
Green Friday.

7. Mack Maine
Age: 29
Net Worth: $11 million
For being the President of YM, Mack Maine isn’t pulling a Presedential salary.

8. Christina Milian
Age: 30
Net Worth: $4.5 million
Latest signee to YM gets PAID UP for being a host on the Voice.

9. DJ Khaled
Age: 36
Net Worth: $30.5 million
Most of that is probably Maybach Money.

10. Busta Rhymes
Age: 39
Net Worth: $60 million
He got fat, but luckily didn’t spend all of his money on Whoppers.

11. Mystikal
Age: 41
Net Worth: $3 million
I guess you can’t make too much money while you’re in jail.

12. Birdman
Age: 43
Net Worth: $100 Million
Officially the worst YMCMB rapper, but officially richer than the richest.

Some conclusions:

Best Money:Age Ratio (Net Worth divided by Age)

Lil Wayne, $3.28 million per year.

Worst Money:Age Ratio (Net Worth divided by Age)

Mystikal, $75 thousand per year.

Total Earnings Of Everyone in this study

$386 million

Old Money vs. Young Money (Over 25 years old vs. Under 25 years old)

Young = $17 mil/each average, Old = $39.75 mil/each

Total Net Worth  divided by 35 total platinum and gold records

$386 / 35 = $11 million per record

So, it would seem that Young Money gets better with age, and Birdman has a long way to go before the “B” in YMCMB is legit. Still, you can’t deny that this crew has the bank accounts to back up their boastful brand. Young money!
