Teenagers should come with a mute button. Contrary to how you might remember them, your teenaged years were likely filled with either self-righteous, convoluted rants or emotional temper tantrums; in most cases, a bit of both. Lucky for us, we weren’t born to Will Smith, who, without exaggerating, is probably the coolest person of literally forever and is super-mega famous because of it. We didn’t have the megaphone we so desperately wanted, and we’re better for it.

Jaden Smith doesn’t have that luxury; nor does his sister, Willow, better known as the Fireball of the party. Making things worse is their access to, well, everything, and the fact that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are pretty open-minded and encouraging parents.

For Willow and Jaden, that means being interviewed about the space time continuum and traditional Indian medicine.

In a new, totally batshit insane interview with T Magazine, Willow, who is 14, and Jaden, 16, were asked by interviewer Su Wu about seemingly anything and everything. Immediately, it got weird.

Eventually, the weirdness makes sense. These kids don’t go to school. Willow says that she went for one year, calling the experience the best, but also the worst.

Jaden says school isn’t authentic because “it ends,” explaining that learning never does. Whoa.

That a kid who thinks newborn babies “would be the most intelligent beings on earth if they could speak” isn’t traditionally educated isn’t entirely surprising, but it is incredibly odd nonetheless.

In the above gallery, we’ve combed through the interview for some of our favourite quotes. Enjoy, if your mind will let you.
