In what sounds like something straight out of noughties-fanfiction, Aaron Carter says he was jumped by—but held his own against—a group of New Kids on the Block fans. He was in Boston for a show when a group of presumably shuffle-dancing NKOTB fans approached him and said, “I heard you’re doing a show here tomorrow. This is the town of the New Kids.”

We’re not sure what a ragtag gang of violent New Kids fans would look like, but the assumption is that it’s probably pretty funny. Regardless, Carter says he handled his own.

According to the New York Daily News, Carter “boasted” that he might have broken his knuckles but that it’s what “the attackers get.”

“People think I’m a pretty little white boy but no way. I think I won. I’m still standing,” he said.

As crazy as this all is, the one thing that stands out to us isn’t that there’s a gang of “Step By Step” whistling gangsters patrolling Boston so much as the news that Aaron Carter is still performing. And while we can’t condone violence, especially not random acts of it, the image of the kid who sang “Crazy Little Party Girl” going Tony Jaa on some suckers is hilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarious.
