Down In Front will showcase the work of AUX's music photographers.

Being a concert photographer is no picnic: in addition to stress of trying to get that perfect shot amid all the flying sweat and stray elbows moving at Mach 2 towards your digital SLR, you have to navigate the sometimes arcane and overly restrictive contracts to even be allowed in the photo pit. Then, of course, you also always gotta keep the three-song rule in the back of your mind to prevent any angry confrontations with, say, an irate metalcore frontman.

That’s why any chance to show your appreciation for these intrepid, hardworking souls is welcome, and an upcoming gallery show is the perfect opportunity to take in the work of four AUX photo contributors. Amanda Fotes, Stephen McGill, Sarah Rix, and AUX’s photo editor Riley Taylor are all going to have their work represented at the Black Cat Artspace starting on February 10th.

Down In Front will showcase live shots of a multitude of acts, including Converge, Snoop Dogg, Chromeo, Slipknot, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, NIN, and many, many more. Come out and support some of Toronto’s best music photographers and take in all the action from February 10th to 15th.
