Navi is considered to be one of the best Michael Jackson impersonators in the world, and also, he is not Joseph Fiennes.

There’s a new TV biopic about Michael Jackson on the horizon, and this one is going to feature a (slightly) less controversial performer in the lead role: a longtime King of Pop tribute act.

Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland is a forthcoming TV movie (yep, it’s from Lifetime) that’s based on the 2014 book Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days, which was written by two of the King of Pop’s former bodyguards. Production won’t start on the project until February, but the biopic is set to star a top Jackson impersonator (and hotel decoy) Navi:

Well, if you have someone who’s dedicated their life to portraying the subject of your biopic, why wouldn’t you just hire them? Especially when the alternative means risking your whole project by casting, say, a much-lauded English actor who portrays MJ as a Reddit atheist, and made Jackson’s daughter Paris, quote, “want to vomit”?

No word on when Searching for Neverland will air (on the Lifetime network), but expect Navi (the Jackson impersonator) to bring some much-needed gravitas to the role (of Michael Jackson, in a cheap biopic based on a book by some security guys).
