Mykki Blanco made a music video with Pornhub, and the results are weird as hell.

American rapper Mykki Blanco is certainly one of the most diverse and badass rappers around right now. The gender-fluid alter-ego of Michael David Quattlebaum Jr. draws as much from riot grrrl and punk as she does from Lil’ Kim and Lauryn Hill, while refusing to be constrained or defined by either side of that very broad spectrum. She’s equal parts Beyoncé and PWR BTTM.

Now, the Pitchfork-praised rapper is again skirting the status quo, and has partnered with Pornhub to produce and premiere the music video for her latest single, “Loner.” The track features 20-year old singer Jean Deaux, and its truly hard to figure out whether the song or the video is more intense. Shots of Blanco and Deaux are spliced with trippy as FUCK visuals and dozens of extras, uh, enjoying themselves via virtual reality headsets (a feature that Pornhub has begun to roll out).

The ‘hub’s vice president Corey Price is pretty confident in his website’s ability to reach larger audiences for artists. “When artists premiere videos on our platform, they open up additional avenues through which they garner exposure and visibility,” he explained to The Guardian.

Blanco also shed some light on the track: “‘Loner’ is a song about misunderstanding – and more than misunderstanding, it’s a song about a universal feeling of not feeling worthy enough, not feeling good enough.”

Check out the video:

Keep an eye on the website’s in-house label, Pornhub Records. You never know what might pop up.
